The principal characters involved in the sharing of the National Youth Employment beneficiaries’ allowances among themselves in the Ajumako-Enyan Essiam District of the Central Region have been summoned to Accra to answer queries arising out of their misdeeds. The Chronicle can confirm that Co-ordinator of the National Youth Employment Program (NYEP) in the district and the Central Regional Co-ordinator  at Cape Coast are on orders to report at the national headquarters in Accra today  to explain why GH7,600.00 disappeared from allowances meant for service workers.

Nana Osibey Quansah (Central Regional Coordinator of the NYEP), Andrews Kojo Dodoo (AEE District Coordinator of the NYEP) and his deputy, Isaac Abeiku Nyanful have been accused of embezzling a month’s allowance of ninety five beneficiaries of the Community Education and Teaching Assistants (CETA) of the NYEP.

The summons, The Chronicle learnt was conveyed to the aforementioned personalities via Cassiel Ato Forson, Member of Parliament (MP) for Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam. .

Inside sources said yesterday that the National Coordinator of the NYEP, Abuga Pele was furious when the alleged financial malpractices about his men came to the public domain, courtesy of The Chronicle newspaper.

Knowing the harm the issue has brought to his office, Abuga Pele was reportedly said to have engaged Mr. Forson in lengthy conversation before an agreement was reached to summon the personalities involved in the alleged financial malfeasance.

The Coordinators according to inside sources are scheduled to be in Accra today at exactly 8:30 am for a crisis meeting with their superiors.

“The AEE District Coordinator and his deputy as well as the Regional Coordinator have been summons before the national executives here in Accra tomorrow (which is today) over their alleged involvement in sharing beneficiaries allowances which The Chronicle reported,” noted the source who spoke to The Chronicle on condition of anonymity.

Beneficiaries of the NYEP in the AEE District are at the throats of their bosses for allegedly pocketing their one month allowances worth GH7,600.00.

They are also accused of deducting GH10.00 each from the beneficiaries’ allowances for the months of September, October and November, without any explanation to the beneficiaries.

Nana Osibey and Mr. Dodoo have both denied the episode. However, Mr. Nyanful when contacted confirmed the incident and insists his share of the money is under lock and key as an exhibit.
